In this landmark episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Joe Rogan sat down with Hamilton Morris — the journalist, filmmaker, and pharmacologist behind Hamilton's Pharmacopeia. During Episode #1136, Joe Rogan personally picked up and examined a kratom product from what was then known as Urban Ice Organics — our founding brand. JRE #876 — Joe Rogan & Chris Bell
On November 21, 2016, filmmaker and wellness advocate Chris Bell joined Joe Rogan on The Joe Rogan Experience for Episode #876. The conversation centered on kratom's growing role in natural wellness and opioid recovery discussions across America.
Chris Bell — director of Bigger, Stronger, Faster* and the kratom documentary A Leaf of Faith — had been working closely with the brand's founder, Kelly Dunn, to bring kratom into mainstream awareness. Bell brought our product to the studio and discussed it at length with Rogan, who is known for his openness to plant-based health topics.
Important distinction: While our product was present and discussed during this episode, Joe Rogan did not personally try or consume our kratom product during JRE #876. The conversation was informational — Chris Bell walking Joe through kratom's alkaloid profile, its traditional uses, and the emerging body of research supporting its potential.
The response from the JRE audience was immediate and overwhelming. Within hours of Episode #876 going live, our website crashed due to the sheer volume of incoming traffic and orders — a moment documented in kratom community forums from the same day.
